Symbiosis Institute of Technology (SIT) was established in 1971 and was affiliated to University of Pune, is now a constituent of Symbiosis International University which was established in the year 2008.

Co-curricular Activities:

• CAD Mania autoCAD competition aimed at developing designing skills for Mechanical Engineering Students
• Robotrix MESA organized National Level Robotics workshop in association with Campus Components
• Rio+20 (United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development) MESA promoted the Rio+20 study programmee in the institute. The programme was organized by IARC Mumbai , to support the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development agenda
• INDO-US Robo League MESA hosted the zonal round of Indo-US Robo League (IURL) A workshop on haptic robotic arm was conducted by Technophilia systems in association with Robotics and Computer Applications Institute USA
• Mesa (Mechanical Engineering Students Association) is the student organization which organize the technical events.

Facilities:

Library	The collection of the books in the library is 9213 Total no. of journals 84 (national and international) and 16 magazines 7 newspapers and 8 E-database subscriptions
Hostel	The Institute has 7 hostels Each hostel has 32 rooms, accommodating 96 students
Computer Lab	The Computer Laboratory has 120 workstations It is facilitated LCD screens and modern software packages
Sports	indoor games are available like table tennis, badminton, squash Outdoor games Cricket and Football ground is also available Inter Institute tournament in various outdoor and Indoor sports and games

Festivals:

• "Raas Ramzat" a Garba night organized by the students of SIT
